Can we hold the ceremony at French Farm?

Yes, you can. There are a number of beautiful spots in the grounds of French Farm for conducting your wedding ceremony.

What are the venue hire fees?

The venue hire to hold your wedding at French Farm is $2,500.

This charge is for the exclusive use of the grounds for your ceremony and photographs, and exclusive use of the restaurant and terrace for the period of your wedding.

How late into the night can our guests stay at French Farm?

French Farm is licensed until 12pm.

How many guests can French Farm accommodate?

French Farm Restaurant can seat up to 110 guests. (Guest numbers can increase with buffet style dining.)

The lawns can also take a marquee to hold up to 250 guests.

The La Pizzeria outdoor dining area is also available in the warmer months and can hold up to 200 guests.

Are there any minimum numbers?

To hire French Farm for the full day requires a minimum of 40 guests.

Can you help me organise things like a florist, entertainment, transport or a photographer?

Certainly. We can supply you with a list of local florists, celebrants, churches, photographers, as well as accomodation & transport options. We only recommend suppliers who have had experience of French Farm and know the venue well.

Can we bring our own wines?

No. French Farm is a fully licensed restaurant and therefore you must purchase all beer and wine from us. (Some flexibility is available.)

How do I make sure my guests don't drink and drive?

Many people decide to make a weekend of it and stay in Akaroa. If this is the case we can recommend coach transportation to take them back to motels in Akaroa at the end of the evening. If most of your guests are returning to Christchurch we can also recommend transportation options to take them back to Christchurch.

Can you create a menu specifically for our wedding?

Most definitely. Our chef is more then happy to create something specific to your requirements. The menus in this package are purely to give you ideas of the style of food offered at French Farm. If you have something special in mind please let us know.

Do I need to pay a deposit to secure a date?

Yes, once you have decided on a date we require you to pay the full venue hire of $2,500 and sign our standard Terms and Conditions. Once we have received your payment the day is all yours.
